Could an cocker spaniel (english) hold its ground if attackes by another dog at the park hes a 1 1/2. Male fit?

If he were attacked by say jack russel, border collie staffy ect hes very fit and quite solid i just want to know tht when i let him off he can hold his ground. He can be quite territorial
