Will a male dog marking trigger my cats to begin spraying?

I have two cats (both male & litter mates), and am awaiting the arrival of a new member to my little family. An 8 week old male Pug. I do already question whether or not they will even get along, but also I worry that if the Pug begins marking that it may trigger the cats to begin spraying. They (the cats) have been fixed and have never sprayed before. I do fully intend to fix the Pug as well ASAP. A co-worker told me that as long as I fix the Pug soon that he should never begin "hiking". Still, I wonder if the cats will begin spraying for other reasons as well. Possibly territorial? First time dog owner here and am researching as much as possible on absolutely everything I can think of for the sake of all the animals and myself. I need help in all areas of dog ownership. I just want to do it all as best as possible. Thanks in advance for any and all advice.
