Can I make the comparison with the 'muslim vice police' and the SA?

Muslims now seem to have a need to point out gay and lesbian people and women who don't dress according to islam rules that they are in violation with the islam. That makes me think about the SA who stood before the houses of the jews in the 30's and asked people not to buy with jews. Is there a difference between what the SA did in the 30's and what the self proclaimed 'muslim vice police' does and is the 'muslim vice police' organized and financed by other groups? If so then is islam more an ideology then a religion?
