Dog bit stranger child after opening our door when nobody knew he was there and nobody was around... help.?

it is extremely unfair in my opinion because the bite arent that bad i would understand if he needed stitches or something but you knock then back away from the door i mean come on have common sense you could of been doing something priate so its invading privacy and not at all deserving to go to court so your dog should be with you not a stranger this child is cluless and you should press charges
