How would a NON traffic ticket affect my driving record?

I recently got a ticket [first ticket period] from LA County for fare evasion when I couldn't find my ticket to show the officer on the metrorail and on the ticket it says "non traffic" at the top. I plan on paying it, but do not know what the consequences are for a non traffic ticket aside from the fine and conviction. I googled it but only found info for traffic tickets, mostly about the points system. Since the violation is considered an infraction in CA, how would this ticket affect my driving record? Would it skyrocket my insurance premium?
