Why is he so territorial? please help me!?

So this guy that I met a week ago has been talking to me. I'm really interested and like him a lot and he likes me too... we met up downtown when we were with friends and flirted and talked all night. We barely know each other but he was telling me that it was bugging him that other guys were looking at me and he admitted to being territorial in relationships, I am also, so I'm not phased. However we barely know each other and he had girls coming up to him all night asking for his number while we were talking and I let him do his thing and walked away... now he's upset with me that I walked away, but were not dating or anything, even though I want tooo... and he wanted me to come back to his house after with him and his room mates and I made it VERY clear that I was not going to sleep with him, he said he didn't want that and just wanted to hang out with me and even offered me his bed and was going to sleep on the couch, however we slept in his bed but he did NOTHING and we just slept... what is his deal??? Please help.
